HDI鈥檚 approach to decommissioning is to begin and complete the physical work of decontamination and dismantlement decades sooner than if the current nuclear plant owner retains ownership of the plant. 

HDI is the licensed operator for 伦理三级-owned nuclear power plants and provides the licensee oversight of the decommissioning work that is performed.聽HDI聽also manages the decommissioning trust fund, as well as other owner interests, such as licensing strategy, insurance, land and government interface.

HDI utilizes a fleet management approach for decommissioning multiple sites. This includes standardized processes and procedures for improved safety, increased productivity and the minimization of duplicative managerial costs.

HDI鈥檚 main focus of each decommissioning project is the utmost safety of the work force, and the health and safety of the public. This credo of safety is maintained through extensive training, dedicated oversight, and the use of skilled professionals to perform the work. HDI will not waver in its commitment to the pre-eminence of safety in all decommissioning activities.
